First Log
This week I started the development of a new game. That is, I started documented what it should become. Coding will start next week.
When I made my first game I made a couple of mistakes that I intend to not make with this one. For instance:
Last game took me 3 years because I had no idea what would take me a lot of time. Like graphics. This next game will still be a strategic turn based game, but it will be a more casual boardgame like game. The focus will be more on making the game fun than on making it graphically fancy. I’m aiming for a 1 year development time that way.
Last game was tested only by me. Which means it was tested horribly. For this new one I will release a free ‘light’ version on at least itch.io so that people can try it out. That way I hope I’ll get some feedback to make the end product better. And maybe some beta testers for the full version.
Marketing was non existent on the last game and that showed in the lack of sales. On this next one I’ll make sure I’ll have something nice looking early in development to share on various social media to increase interest.
From the start the new game will be build for not only Windows PC, but also for at least Android devices.
